I didn’t know much about Slovenia before arriving there. Only that Slovenians are some kind of western Slavs and they have a beautiful lake called Bled and right in middle of it there is an island with a medieval monastery. Slovenia is small. That’s way maybe I chose to be ignorant. But as I was about to discover, good things come in small packages. It’s a superb country. From the small coast at the Adriatic sea to the Julian Alps, the landscape changes dramatically as you go north. And the cosy Ljubljana offered me more then I needed from a relaxing vacation.
BONUS : I arrived just a few days after the country was hit by the biggest ice storm Slovenians can remember.
