Iceland

“Winter in Iceland? Can’t be that bad”, I was thinking in the summer of 2013 when I booked the tickets. So January 2014 came and I found myself walking around the strange looking church, Hallgrímskirkja in Reykjavik. It was fascinating. Actually, the hole country is surreal. The flight from London didn’t get me to Reykjavik, but instead, it landed on another planet. The landscape is nothing compared to what I’ve seen before. Lagoons filled with tiny icebergs, volcanic beaches, geothermal water, waterfalls, huge glaciers and volcanoes with names you cannot pronounce (try Eyjafjallajökull). A place where the northern lights are dancing in the frozen sky while people still build little houses hoping elves will move in.
